Training of trainers: controlled training of psychologists in the field of psychology of disaster, crisis and trauma in eastern European countries

Jana Malíková

This project responds to needs in the field of providing of psychosocial needs in Europe, which have arisen in recent years. In Western Europe, were gradually formed and used systems for providing psychosocial care and one of the forms of development was the creation of a network of contacts and follow-up care across Europe. When comparing the systems in the countries where these systems already exist and are build on a good and specific training for professionals and a sophisticated network of university education, it was found that there are still European countries that have reserves in these areas. Therefore, we focused on Eastern European countries, in which we believe, a relevant form of education is still missing. Standing Committee focused on the transfer of current experience and transferable practices. The project is organized by EFPA and by Standing Committee for the psychology of disaster and crisis with the support of the Council of Europe – EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement.
