The book under review is a 42nd issue of the edition Paměť [Memory]. The book is a product of a three-year long research endeavor of the authors and a true crown of their intensive work. The authors used various sources: Tardy's publications, manuscripts, correspondence and diaries, archive materials of the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague, archival materials of the Institute of Psychology of the Czech Academy of Sciences and other archival documents. Another source of information were interviews with contemporaries.
