In the book under review, the author tried to summarize the most important foreign, findings on prosocial behavior from recent years. Such attempt itself is a valuable contribution as books on this topic are still rather rare in the Czech scientific literature. The author had to deal with the uneasy task to encompass the topic that is not quite consistent yet, both theoretically and methodologically. Another asset is that the book reports not only on current state of knowledge on prosocial behavior but also on the results of original and extensive domestic research of this phenomenon.
