A thick textbook of 884 pages on glossy paper lies on my desk and I wonder how to present the third revised edition (translated into Czech in 2012) of this classic psychology textbook as it is known to almost everyone interested in psychology. There is no other textbook of similar scope available in Czech and thus Atkinson and Hilgard's Introduction is a first choice for those who wish to build a firm base in psychology, prepare for entrance exams or for those psychologists who want to refresh their knowledge from the areas of psychology they are not currently engaged in.
