Is there a possiblity the psychiatric clinic becomes a building operates to our emotions, therefore architecture?
From the 90th years there is a significant increase in psychiatric outpatient
care, which is due to the fact that there has been a growing emphasis on
prevention and social rehabilitation of patients and that there is a shift from
inpatient to parts of transmural psychiatric facility in the Czech republic.
Psychiatric care in the Czech Republic remains from the state authorities –
particularly the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance – are still
considerably underestimated. But psychiatric care is at high level compared to
other EU countries in professional and organizational terms.
The author presents the report on her diploma projects – architectural
design, Psychiatric clinic in the area of Thomayerova´s Hospital and
Policlinic in Prague. She explains her approach and she documents her own design
of clinic through images.
