A quarter of a century after John Bowlby's death, thirty years after the Adult Attachment Interview was first conducted by Carol George, Nancy Kaplan and Mary Main, and some time since disorganized attachment was identified by Mary Main and Judith Solomon, these ideas, according to Howard Steele, the conference's chair, became key topics for more 450 researchers and practitioners that had come to New York from 24 countries altogether to attend the conference.
