Sexuality and sexual identity. The social character of spontaneity.
(review)

Diana Valečková

The author uses engaging yet erudite style to concern on the topic of sexuality from the point of its’ socio-cultural formation and conditioning. The book mentions facts from specialized sociologic researches and publications which prove that the primary natural evolutionary conditioned biological function of sexuality is only in the background in the process of creation of the whole sexual behavior of an individual. It highlights the variability of sexuality on the socio-cultural level and also in the context of interpersonal relationships and the ambiguity of borders between what we consider to be a sexual behavior and what it isn’t.
